Letter from the President

To our colleagues, members, and partners in venous and lymphatic care, Welcome back.

For more than four decades, the American Vein & Lymphatic Society has served as a professional home for clinicians, researchers, educators, and industry partners dedicated to improving venous and lymphatic health. Today, we are pleased to share that AVLS is moving forward with renewed purpose, renewed energy, and a clear plan for the future.

Over the past several months, our volunteers, leadership teams, staff, and partners have worked diligently to stabilize the Society and create a strong foundation for long-term success. As we emerge from Chapter 11, our focus is straightforward: restore member value, rebuild trust, and strengthen the resources that support our profession.

We are actively rebuilding and expanding the programs that matter most to our members:

  • Education
  • Advocacy
  • Research
  • Professional networking and collaboration
  • Member communications and support

Our Membership Services, Communications, Finance, Executive, and Board leadership teams are meeting regularly and working together to restore the volunteer-driven structure that has long been a hallmark of AVLS.

Looking ahead, our 2026 priorities are centered on reconnecting our community and restoring member benefits. Beginning this summer, members will once again have access to regular educational programming, including digital learning opportunities with and without CME credit. Planning is also underway for future in-person educational events and collaborative meetings that will continue AVLS's tradition of advancing excellence in venous and lymphatic care.

As we rebuild, we invite you to be part of the process.

You can help by:

  • Renewing your AVLS membership
  • Encouraging colleagues and industry partners to support the Society
  • Volunteering for committees, projects, and initiatives
  • Sharing your ideas and feedback with our leadership team

The future of AVLS will be shaped by the expertise, dedication, and engagement of its members. Together, we have an opportunity not only to restore what has been built over the past 40 years, but to create an even stronger organization for the next generation of venous and lymphatic professionals.

We are committed to transparency and responsible stewardship as we move forward. Information regarding AVLS's restructuring process, financial recovery plan, and future vision is available through the links provided on this site.

Thank you for your continued support, your patience, and your belief in the importance of our shared mission.

We look forward to building the future of AVLS together.

With gratitude,
