The RPhS Review Course is a series of on-demand lectures and a live stream session that includes a mock exam and discussion. Improve your understanding of venous duplex ultrasound and the basics of lower extremity arterial disease, arterial testing, and indirect venous testing. Review the types of testing and treatment options for patients with venous disease, and distinguish treatment choices based on patient presentation. Compare venous ultrasonography with clinical anatomy and and understand how to maintain equipment information, facility, and safety in phlebology organizations. The RPhS Review Course will prepare you to perform the major duties and tasks as listed in the outline content of the CCI RPhS Examination outline.

Course Objectives

  • Recognize anatomy, physiology and pathology of the deep and superficial venous systems
  • Describe the various techniques for treating venous disease and the associated role of duplex ultrasound
  • Compare venous disease classification tools such as CEAP and VCSS
  • Distinguish treatment choices based on patient presentation using classification tools such as CEAP and VCSS
  • Define the ultrasonographer's role in maintaining information, facility, and safety
  • Discuss the increasing importance of credentialing for health care professionals

Participate in our virtual RPhS course through live stream and video chat. 
RPhS lectures will be available to view on-demand until December 31, 2021, with an opportunity for attendees to submit questions related to each presentation. The live stream on September 11, 2021, will begin with the faculty reviewing and discussing all questions received, as well as an opportunity for attendees to submit additional questions. The live stream will also include a mock RPhS exam with a discussion of the answers. The panel will discuss each answer and address questions submitted by attendees.
