Membership Standing Committee

The mission of the Membership Engagement Standing Committee is to establish strategic direction for the AVLS in the domains of:

  • Membership recruitment and retention
  • Maintaining and improving member value
  • Development of new leaders within the Society

The mission of the Membership Retention Advisory Committee is to:

  • Develop methods of engagement for new and existing members to facilitate their assimilation into the Society
  • Provide oversite to the Digital Communities of the Society
  • To identify and develop additional member benefits that support the long-term retention of membership

The mission of the Membership Recruitment Advisory Committee is to:

  • To focus on the acquisition of new members to the Society
  • Representing the Society at various meetings and exhibitions
  • Work with corporate partners to develop new membership leads

The mission of the Specialty Sections is to:

  • Bring membership together under specific topical areas to support the development and expansion of the membership.
    • Imaging – Ultrasonography
    • Allied Health – Nursing, Advanced Practice Providers
    • Lymphedema

Statement of Purpose:
The Member Engagement Standing Committee is responsible for the oversight and direction of advisory committees that create and provide products and/or services that are directly beneficial to AVLS’ members and their interests. The Member Engagement Standing Committee is required to provide clear and concise directions to those advisory committees assigned to them regarding any initiatives or projects that are pursued by the Board of Directors or activities detailed within the Infrastructure goal within the AVLS’ 2016-2019 Strategic Plan.

Recruitment and Retention Committee

Statement of Purpose:
The purpose of the Recruitment and Retention committee is to advise and support the AVLS staff with the development and implementation of programs and policies to recruit new members and retain existing. The committee may develop complimentary programs in consultation with AVLS staff. In addition the committee will manage the AVLS Ambassador program.

Leadership Development Committee

Statement of Purpose:
The purpose of the Leadership Development Committee is to identify and develop leadership opportunities for member volunteers, to identify resources required for such initiatives and provide support in the development of new leaders with the AVLS. The goal of the Leadership Development Committee is to create an ever expanding pool of engaged volunteers and to identify those whom have the potential to be developed into leaders.

Statement of Purpose:
The purpose of the International Affairs Committee is to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with phlebological societies and practitioners outside of the United States, promote AVLS events and membership internationally, and increase the overall international presence of the organization.

Statement of Purpose:
The purpose of the Publication Committee is to compose, curate, and publish information about the activities and accomplishments of the AVLS, scientific research, and news with relevance to AVLS members and vein-care.

Statement of Purpose:
The purpose of the Nursing Section is to advance the art and science of nursing within the field of vein care. The section shall seek to improve the understanding of diagnosis and treatment in that specialty by members, and shall seek to improve the delivery of nursing care to the public.

Ultrasonography

Statement of Purpose:
The purpose of the Ultrasonography Section is to advance the art and science of Ultrasonography within the field of vein care. The section shall seek to improve the understanding of diagnosis and treatment in that specialty by members, and shall seek to improve the delivery of ultrasonography care to the public.

Lymphatic & Integumentary Rehabilitation (LIR) Specialty Section

Statement of Purpose:
Lymphatic and Integumentary Rehabilitation is designed to comprehensively and holistically address patient management issues, associated complications, and contributing factors that lead to lymphatic, integumentary, and functional impairments related to lymphedema. Lymphatic pathophysiology requires a team approach to maximize patient outcomes and requires knowledge and appreciation of the inter-relationship of the body systems for prehabilitation, rehabilitation, restoration, and maintenance to improve quality of life.

Statement of Purpose:
The purpose of the APN-PA Section is to advance the art and science of Advanced Nursing and Physician Assistance within the field of vein care. The section shall seek to improve the understanding of diagnosis and treatment in that specialty by members, and shall seek to improve the delivery of APN-PA care to the public.
