2024 Philips IVUS Case Competition

Showcase your expertise and innovative techniques in intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) imaging. Submit your best IVUS cases, demonstrating exceptional imaging skills and innovative approaches to diagnose and treat venous diseases. Our panel will select the best cases to present based on technical quality, diagnostic accuracy, and patient outcomes.

Qualifications

  • All medical residents, fellows and recently graduated physicians (within their first 5 years of practice) both in the US and internationally can apply.
  • Submissions must focus on this year's topic: "Think outside the box by viewing from within: using IVUS to see vein blockage or narrowing"
  • Cases must utilize the Philips IVUS Imaging system
  • Cases must be on-label usage of the IVUS Imaging system
  • Multiple submissions are allowed per person, however an individual may only present one case as a finalist
  • Case submissions must have all patient identifiers and Protected Health Information (PHI) under HIPPA removed.
  • Applicants must consent to compensation and reimbursement being subjected to federal and state law reporting, only if they win.

Finalists:

  • Present Case at the AVLS Philips IVUS Case Competition Breakfast on Thursday, October 10 in Chicago
  • 2 Night Hotel stay at the Sheraton Grand Chicago Riverwalk for October 9-10
  • Flight Stipend to Chicago for AVLS Competition ($500)
  • One-Day AVLS Congress Registrations for Thursday and Friday

AVLS Case Winner:

  • AVLS IVUS Case Competition Winner Cash Prize ($500)
  • Present Case at the AVLS Annual Congress Opening Session on Thursday, October 10
  • Present at the Philips IVUS Global Case Competition Event (November 2024)
  • 1 Night Hotel Stay at the Philips IVUS Global Case Competition Event (November 2024)
  • Flight Stipend to Philips IVUS Global Case Competition Event ($800)

  • Click the "Join Now" button on the right - if you have already submitted an abstract for the AVLS 2024 Annual Congress, you may use the same login
  • Complete the Account Profile information
  • Under "Abstracts" select "Click here to begin a new abstract" next to the green plus sign

To complete your one-minute case presentation, we suggest you follow the structure below.

Finalists Presentations

Thursday, October 10

7:30 AM - 8:30 AM | Sheraton Grand Chicago Riverwalk
Up to four finalists will be selected from the case submissions and invited to present their cases to our panel of judges at an in-person breakfast during the AVLS 2024 Annual Congress. Presentations will be scored and a winner will be selected, and the winner will present as a part of the Opening Session of the AVLS Annual Congress on Thursday, October 10. The winner of the AVLS IVUS Case Competition will go on to compete live in the Philips Global IVUS Competition.
