ACP Board Looks to the Future at Strategic Planning Meeting

The AVLS Board of Directors met in Chicago March 4-6 to develop the 2016-2019 AVLS Strategic Plan. The purpose of the 3-day planning session was to evaluate the previous strategic plan, review recent AVLS membership survey data and recommendations from the Executive Leadership Summit, and write a new plan for the next three years.

Discussions covered the ACP’s role as a voice for the specialty, the need for comprehensive venous education, clinical outcomes-based research and ways to engage and grow the interdisciplinary membership. These discussions generated spirited debate, which eventually led to a consensus around key goals, drivers and metrics.

The 2016-2019 AVLS Strategic Plan document is currently being reviewed by the AVLS Board and will be made available to the membership upon approval.
